1. Information We Collect
a. Account & Authentication Information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address, name, and encrypted authentication tokens. If you use Guest Mode, information is stored locally on your device.
b. Nutrition & Health Goals
To personalize your weekly meal plan, we collect non-clinical dietary preferences (e.g. Vegetarian, Keto, High-Protein), daily calorie targets, macro ratios (protein, carbs, fat), and declared food allergies (e.g. Gluten, Dairy, Peanuts).
c. Pantry Inventory & Grocery Preferences
We store items logged in your virtual pantry, expiration dates, selected supermarket stores (e.g. Kroger, ALDI), and custom shopping lists.
d. Camera & Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
With your explicit device permission, MeelKraft accesses your camera or photo library solely to process grocery receipts, weekly circular flyer discounts, and product barcodes. Captured images are processed to extract text/deals and are not used for facial recognition or unrelated profiling.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate personalized, cost-effective meal plans matching your calorie goals and local flyer sales.
- To provide expiration warnings on pantry ingredients nearing their shelf life.
- To enable Meelly AI to answer your conversational questions regarding meal swaps, recipes, and prep tips.
- To synchronize your shopping list across your devices in real-time.
- To process in-app subscription entitlements through Apple App Store and Google Play.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is transmitted using modern industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS 1.3 encryption) and stored in secure cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL on Supabase) utilizing Row-Level Security (RLS) so that only you can access your private data.
4. Third-Party Services & Processors
We integrate only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the application:
- Supabase: Secure database hosting and user authentication.
- Apple In-App Purchases / Google Play Billing: Processing premium subscriptions without MeelKraft ever seeing your credit card numbers.
- AI Inference APIs: Processing anonymous recipe generation prompts without storing personal identification.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Regardless of your location, we honor universal user rights:
- Access & Export: Request a copy of all information tied to your account.
- Correction: Update incorrect dietary preferences or profile data directly within the app.
- Deletion: Permanently erase your account, pantry logs, and calorie records anytime via in-app settings or our Data Deletion Request Page.
6. Children's Privacy
MeelKraft is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
